Adrienne Wong

Locations hold memories; places have meaning. The juxtaposition of nature and cityscapes drawn from my onsite sketches of Houston locations interest me. My intention is to communicate those observations and emotions to transport the viewer to another world, of half-recalled memories of people and places, a dreamlike uncertainty at the unclear transition time between day and night. These strange monochromatic worlds of painted or drawn horizontal lines are devoid of the usual visual cues, suggesting memory and movement within areas of spatial ambiguity.
